Frequently Asked Questions
Service
- Do I need to book an appointment for the service?
You can bring your bike during our fixed repair drop-off times or schedule an appointment in advance. You can do this via the web form or by phone.
- What services do you offer for bikes?
We provide full maintenance for E-bikes, mountain bikes, and touring bikes: brake setup, gear adjustment, tire check, plus battery diagnostics and software updates for Bosch and TQ motors.
- How long does a bike service take?
It depends on the scope of the work. Many jobs are completed within a day, smaller adjustments often immediately. If we need to order spare parts, it may take a bit longer. We’ll let you know the expected time when you drop off your bike.
- Do I need to prepare anything before bringing my bike?
It’s best to bring your bike clean, so we can inspect everything properly during drop-off.
- What prices apply to the service?
Service is charged at a fixed rate (Basic or Extra). Any additional repairs are billed according to standard labor time, and spare parts are invoiced separately. We’ll provide a cost estimate during drop-off, and any price increases will always be agreed upon in advance.
Bike Rental
- Are the batteries sufficient for a full-day tour?
It depends on the model. The batteries in the Scott Patron and Scott Aspect easily last for a full-day tour. For the Scott Lumen and Scott Voltage, it depends on how much motor support you use — these are “light E-MTBs” with smaller batteries.
- What happens if I have a technical issue during my ride?
Our bikes are well maintained, but if something does happen, you can reach us by phone at any time and we’ll find a quick solution.
- Which bikes can I rent from you?
We offer modern Scott full-suspension E-Mountainbikes, regularly serviced and in excellent condition — perfect for the Vienna Woods. Available models: Patron eRide, Lumen eRide, and Aspect eRide. We’ll help you choose the best bike for your tour.
- Do I need to reserve the E-bike in advance?
Yes, a reservation via the inquiry form or by phone is absolutely necessary. We are a small team, our Bike Base is not staffed all day, and on weekends many bikes may be out on tours.
- Do I need prior experience to rent an E-bike?
No. Our E-MTBs are easy to use, and you’ll receive a short introduction on site. Perfect for beginners as well.
- Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. We simply keep your valid ID for the duration of the rental as security.
- How long can I rent the E-bike?
Our prices are the same for all bikes and are based on the rental duration. Whether you need a bike for a short ride, a full day, or even a whole weekend — it’s up to you.
- Can I use the E-Mountainbike without joining a guided tour?
Of course! You can take the bike on your own ride. If you want, we’re happy to recommend suitable routes — from relaxed scenic rides to trail options.
Tours
- How long do the tours last?
We offer short tours (2–3 h), enjoyment tours (3–4 h), and full-day tours. Duration depends on group size, pace, and breaks. Larger groups usually need a bit more time.

We offer modern Scott full-suspension E-Mountainbikes, regularly serviced and in excellent condition — perfect for the Vienna Woods. Available models: Patron eRide, Lumen eRide, and Aspect eRide. We’ll help you choose the best bike for your tour.

- What should I bring to a tour?
Comfortable sports clothing, closed shoes, and a good mood. A helmet is mandatory — bring your own or use one of ours. We also provide cycling gloves and a water bottle.
- Do I need prior experience for a tour?
You only need to know how to ride a bike — no MTB experience required. Our tours are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced riders. We adapt pace and route to the group.
- Do tours take place in bad weather?
Light rain is no problem. In case of storms, thunderstorms, or severe weather, we cancel or reschedule free of charge.
- How big are the guided groups?
Our groups are intentionally small — usually 2 to 6 people for a personal and safe experience. Group tours can go up to 10 participants maximum.
- Can I join a tour with a regular bicycle?
For most tours we recommend an E-MTB due to elevation gain in the Vienna Woods. With strong fitness you can participate on your own bike — preferably a mountain bike or gravel bike, depending on the tour.
- Where do the tours start?
If you rent a bike from us, we start at our Bike Base – Kefergasse 22, 1140 Wien, easily reachable by U4, tram 49 or 52. If you bring your own bike, the starting point can be anywhere in Vienna, or even outside the city for an additional fee.
- Are there places to stop for food or drinks?
Yes — depending on the tour type:
- Full-day tours: a stop at a Vienna Woods hut or restaurant is planned for
- Leisure tours: break optional, depending on the preferences of the group
- Short tours: no stop — time is too limited
